Sometimes it is hard to imagine someone as successful, talented and beautiful as Beyoncé Knowles ever having to deal with heartbreak or depression when it comes to relationships. Most likely Beyoncé is not singing about her personal relationship struggles in her song “Why Don’t You Love Me,” but is rather taking up the role as spokeswoman for all those ladies scorned by a cheating husband or boyfriend.
“You better sit down and look around
Cause you must’ve bumped yo’ head
And I love you enough to talk some sense back into you baby
I’d hate to see you come home, me the kids and the dog is gone
Check my credentials
I give you everything you want, everything you need
Even your friends say I’m a good woman
All I need to know is why?”
The video for “Why Don’t You Love Me” features Beyoncé playing to role of a 1950s housewife named B.B. Homemaker. The video is shot like a home movie with Beyoncé involved in traditional 1950s-era female “responsibilities” like cooking and gardening. The video is of just Beyoncé in a number of outfits, partaking in a number of different “wife” activities like doing the dishes, drinking martinis and crying. Apparently Beyoncé is playing the role of a wife in the A&E hit drama “Mad Men.”

Beyoncé, who just looks absolutely fabulous in her tight 1950s bras, underwear and dominatrix outfits sings, “Why don’t you love me?” while crawling around on the floor, or dancing around the living room. Although tame by today’s standards, this video would be classified as pornography sixty years ago.
To play into the time period theme, there is also even a section of video that pauses, while B.B. Homemaker takes a bath and music similar to the Dick Van Dyke theme plays in the background. The video and song starts back up, and shows Beyoncé dusting her 16 Grammy Awards.
Beyoncé will only add to those awards as she continues her streak as one of the most successful female artists. Scratch that, one of the most successful artists — male or female — performing today. Her songs pay tribute to strong and powerful females, who do not put up with men’s crap, and this theme will continue to bring her hit singles as there will always be scorned women looking for the next track to listen to while recovering from heartbreak as there will always be men who cheat — even if their wives are beautiful, successful and talented.
