With recent celebrity infidelities dominating the headlines — such as the Tiger Woods sex scandals and now Jesse James and his tattooed white supremacist mistress — it’s nice to hear a song that focuses on monogamy and old-fashioned romance.
B.o.B.’s new video release “Nothin’ On You” featuring Bruno Mars is a very stylized video featuring smooth lyrics and a cool twist on graphic design. The video seems to be a stop-motion film that intercuts magazine-like clippings made into a continually changing collage. It’s very cool and fits the song very well.

The collage changes throughout the beginning of the video constructing photos of different “beautiful girls” which is reminiscent of the Truman Show, where Jim Carrey tries to remember the girl of his dreams by using magazine cutouts of different models with different eyes, noses, ears, etc.
One may think that B.o.B., also known as Bobby Ray, will start singing about how many girls throw themselves at him and how he throws it right back at them; that is until Bruno Mars starts to sweetly croon, “Beautiful girls / All over the world / I could be chasing but my time would be wasted / They got nothing on you baby / Nothing on you baby / They might say hi and I might say hey / But you shouldn’t worry about what they say / Cause they got nothing on you baby / Nothing on you.”
Whatever Cosmopolitan magazine writes about relationship advice, Bobby Ray puts into song going against the grain of many current singers and rappers.
This will truly be a popular song with college-aged girls, and will be the first hit of his upcoming album release on April 27, “B.o.B. Presents The Adventures of Bobby Ray.”
B.o.B. has changed his style of music over the years, and told MTV News in 2009, “I’m really going into a new direction — more free and not trying to live up to any particular genre. I don’t feel like I’ve been doing that. I don’t feel like I’ve been trying to fit in, but I feel even more free-spirited. I have more willingness musically.”
With a backing by T.I. and Atlantic Records, Bobby Ray looks set to make a huge impact in the musical world like others from Atlanta, Georgia have done so before.

April 15th, 2010It bugs the hell out of me, I hate the this pop music, i blame the x-factor and the rest of those stupid shows, i much prefer to listen to bands who write thier own stuff, play their own insturments. Theres only a handful of good ones left. I think we are in the minority. Shame, pop music fades away and is gone i mean who forgets bands like queen, thin lizzy, iron maiden, led zep. beatles. No one.
