Lady Gaga – Marry The Night (Music Video Review)

Lady Gaga had a string of long-form music videos with lots of metaphors and costume changes, starting with “Paparazzi” back in 2009. She followed up these with more “short films” for “Telephone,” “Alejandro,” “Born this Way,” and “Judas.” These videos all have some sort of story element to them, they all feature extended scenes without actual Lady Gaga, and occasionally have voiceover from Gaga herself.

The Bunny The Bear – Ces’t Pas Si Loin (Music Video Review)

Combing the usage of different types of vocal styles with different types of actual music is no easy task. Typically, a band that tries to please everyone winds up pleasing no one. The jury is still out the band The Bunny The Bear as their style is just very unique and very, um, weird.

Enrique Iglesias – “I Like How It Feels” featuring Pitbull (Music Video Review)

Throughout every successful musical career, there comes a time when a singer or band releases a “behind-the-scenes” documentary music video. The artists always direct the video themselves and they always think it’s such an innovative way to connect with their fans. Typically these videos do not connect with their fans at all because it’s usually filled with scenes of them trying to avoid crowds of ravenous groupies and partying with hot models on private jets and expensive yachts. A video that shows how much money they have and how much they do not really care about their fans is never a great idea.

Tony Bennett and Lady Gaga – “The Lady Is a Tramp” (Music Video Review)

A very interesting and wonderful video was released today. It’s a duet with today’s most popular female artist — someone who is known for outlandish costumes and over-the-top music videos — with an Octogenarian. When put this way, it doesn’t make too much sense. But, when put this way — Lady Gaga and Tony Bennett — it makes perfect sense.

Adele – “Someone Like You” (Music Video Review)

By all means, the video is one of the least exciting videos ever released, but it does an incredible job of matching the mood of the lyrics with visuals that make the entire combination a beautiful one. Surely there will be thousands of heartbroken women all over the world watching this video over and over again as they lie in bed, eat ice cream and cry.

Kelly Clarkson – “Mr. Know It All” (Music Video Review)

The song seems to be about a guy who either just broke up with her, or someone she just broke up with. Either way, it appears that the guy thought he knew Clarkson well. According to the lyrics, he apparently did not know her very well.

Eric Church – “Drink In My Hand” (Music Video Review)

Country artists relate to their fans better than any other performers in any other genre. While rappers are filling their songs with lyrics about driving Bentleys and having sex with models, many of their fans are living paycheck to paycheck with the hopes that one day they can get bottle service at a club. Country musicians, on the other hand, fill their songs with lyrics about the blue-collared American. These people deal with working jobs that demand grueling manual labor, they may be in a rocky relationship filled with heartbreak, and they spend their nights and weekends drinking their problems away. And the song “Drink In My Hand” by Eric Church is certainly a perfect song for these types of fans.

Noel Wells – “Sequence_4″ Video Review

There was once a time when people were “discovered” by agents and television shows dedicated to giving no-name talents a shot at glory. Sure, there are dozens of reality shows out there giving people the opportunity to become a household name, but there is now an even easier way to become a “celebrity.” YouTube.

Timbaland – “Pass At Me” ft. Pitbull (Music Video Review)

It is very understandable — when watching certain rap videos — why teenagers in the United States don’t care about education. Why spend all that time learning when it could be spent producing beats and freestyle rhyming? It’s certainly a hard argument to make when watching a video like “Pass At Me” by Timbaland and Pitbull — which is nothing but four minutes of hot woman partying with the duo.

Jennifer Lopez – “Papi” (Music Video Review)

Jennifer Lopez is fun again. Because of this, both her music and her videos have much more of a happy and poppy element. Even though J. Lo has always been considered one of the sexiest women in the world since hitting the scene with the film Selena, she always seems more interesting when she is smiling with joy instead of lustily looking into the camera. Her video for “Papi” is certainly more cute and fun than serious and sexy — and this is a good thing.
