We’ve written a lot about NSFW music videos in the past few weeks here at SoManyMP3s.com. We do not particularly search them out, but it seems like more and more videos are hedging their bets when it comes to putting potentially offensive material in their videos. This is certainly due to the rise of the music video on YouTube through the VEVO service, as artists and bands can now release their videos in their intended ways. Artists are no longer premiering videos on MTV so the “Music” Television Network no longer has as say in video censorship — even though they have no problem showing Snooki and the gang getting in fights and having “lesbionic” hook-ups every week.

Typically, when one sees a NSFW (Not Safe For Work) link on a YouTube video, one thing pops into the mind of the viewer. Boobs! Even though one can find naked boobs anywhere on the internet — it’s sometimes harder to find images of women with their clothes on than off online — it’s always a special occasion when YouTube allows a pair of naked breasts on their website. Going through the steps of verifying one’s age on YouTube is an easy process, but the few seconds that keeps the viewer away from seeing nude knockers can feel like an eternity.

Avril Lavigne has stated that she put in a lot of effort to make the songs on her most recent album, Goodbye Lullaby, more serious in nature, and did not want them to be nearly as poppy as most of her hits. Her newest single and video for “Wish You Were Here” is definitely more serious in tone and in look, but it seems like it’s serious for all the wrong reasons.

Rolling Stone released the results of an online readers poll about the “Worst Songs of the Nineties” — and although they got a few of them right — the songs are not actually the “worst songs” of the decade; they’re the most annoying songs of the decade. Music is certainly subjective, but every single song on the list sold a…

There are a lot of cute teenage girls who have the dream of being the next Britney Spears, Katy Perry, or Miley Cyrus. For every successful bubblegum pop star, there are a million other girls that have had their dreams shattered. To truly be successful they need to be able to sing, dance, look cute, be an inspiration for other…

The band blink-182 has always been a breath of fresh air when hitting the music scene for the first time in the late 1990s, and now their reunion here in 2011. When they first had mainstream success, their competition for radio airplay were the Backstreet Boys and N*Sync. Now, with their reunion, they are competing with Justin Bieber and Katy Perry. blink-182 became the most popular band for teenagers who hated mainstream pop music, but didn’t necessarily want to jump into the full hardcore/punk music scene. Unlike many punk bands before blink-182 — who sung serious lyrics about fascism, depression and suicide — the lyrics to the most popular blink-182 songs were upbeat and sophomoric. Their songs typically talked about dating, masturbation, or being immature for their age.

If the Grammys gave out awards for “Funniest Musical Group,” there would be little argument that the award would go to the Foo Fighters. Throughout the years, Dave Grohl has led his band in some of the most memorably witty and comical videos. The weird thing about this is that their music is tried and true hard rock without the…

9:00 p.m. Wow. That pre-show was a big mess. Sway held it together, but those two white hipsters were completely out of their league while interviewing Wiz Khalifa, Tyler the Creator, and other big rap stars. Tyler the Creator even mimicked — using the MTV microphone — Jim Cantiello giving a blowjob. Classy start MTV. The pre-show mostly served as one…

The MTV Video Music Awards, which will broadcast live this Sunday at 9 p.m. EST, are the Academy Awards for music videos. Even though most viewers have only watched the nominated videos online, MTV still holds king over presenting artists with awards for the best music videos. We will be once again live blogging like last year during the show…
There is no denying that Lady Gaga is an incredible entertainer and a passionate figure when it comes to the advocacy of the disenfranchised. She fights for the rights of the LBGT community, and looks fabulous while doing so. She has created memorable videos that have been watched billions of times on YouTube. She has taken home Grammys and Moon…
