Red Hot Chili Peppers – Look Around (Music Video Review)

Something happened to the Chili Peppers in the early 2000’s. It seemed like overnight and without warning they turned from a funky alternative band who sang about everything from talking to animals to having sex with female cops (long before Lil Wayne did) to singing about California. And, um, California. And even their sound took a noticeably poppy turn. While this was not necessarily a bad thing, it has been stretched so thin by now that a lot of the true old-school RHCP fans are starting to root for a comeback to the old sound. The slapping bass and kinky, catchy guitar riffs. Look Around is just not that. And though they may not actually say the word California in this song, they may as well have because it sounds like a reject track from Californication.

Adam Lambert – Better Than I Know Myself (Music Video Review)

What do we even say about this? We don’t like it, not because he is sassy, but because it sucks. We fully realize an artist’s amount of eyeliner should not affect what you think about their music, and being former Boy George fans we can confidently say that we feel the same way. But when your music is the male adult equivalent of bad Disney pop music, no amount of eyeliner can detract from that.

OK Go – Needing / Getting (Music Video Review)

Every now and then, but very rarely, you see a music video that is so groundbreaking, it redefines that art of the music video for you. It is so bold and original in it’s direction, that everything that came before it ends up coming across like a home movie. OK GO’s new music video for Needing/Getting is SO good, that any other video we review for the rest of the month is now going to suffer. This video is so mind blowing, you WILL email it to friends just so you can talk about it. It may be the single greatest music video we have ever seen, and we have seen THEM ALL.

WZRD (KiD CuDi & Dot Da Genius) – Teleport 2 Me, Jamie (Feat. Desire)

WZRD is a supergroup. A supergroup is collaboration with two or more already successful artists, merging to form a new musical creation. Though supergroups are more prominent in rock and pop music, the rap game has seen its fair share. From 213 featuring Nate Dogg, Warren G and Snoop to CRS who have Kanye and Lupe Fiasco in it with…

Superbowl Snacks: Grilled Chicken Wings with Sweet Red Chili and Peach Glaze

As if anyone anywhere is talking about anything other than the big game tonight. We figured we would give you the recipe for the best wings you can possibly make, and we would give it to you early enough that you still have time to make them. Here you go: 1 (12 ounce) jar Peach Apricot Preserves 1 cup Thai…

M.I.A. – Bad Girls (Music Video Review)

So something happened here at the Somanymp3s offices the other night while we were watching the new Madonna video. We realized we miss M.I.A. She SLAYS the Madonna song with her verse, and it reminded us how much we miss her music. Yeah, she plays up the militaristic and anarchist side a bit, no doubt. Yeah, her delivery is methodical, but it is not for everyone. She is also quite attractive in a “ I think that woman would stab me” kind of way, but above all of that, she has swagger and is talented. So imagine how excited we were this morning when Bad Girls, the new video from M.I.A’s oddly titled forthcoming album, /\/\/\Y/\, arrived on our desks. Like eager children, we ripped into the package. What we got was just what we wanted. A ripping Middle Eastern beat with sick verses about how awesome she is. On top of that, you add a bunch of intense religious imagery, and you have the return of M.I.A in full force.

Antoine Dodson feat. Brent Morgan – Lovesick Lullaby (Music Video Review)

Well, guess who is back? Yes, Antoine Dodson is back, and he is REALLY hoping you missed him. After hearing this song you will realize just how much you DIDN’T miss him. Took us about thirty seconds of watching this has-been-who-never-was trying to croon like old school Bobby Brown to realize It just doesn’t work. And man, that weave on Dodson’s head is so distracting. The last time we were that traumatized by a weave was when we walked in on our former intern Skippy getting some face love from Whoopie Golberg. That was disturbing, but somehow this is worse.

Trae Tha Truth – I’m On 2.0 (MP3 Leak)

This is the generic, WE ARE THE WORLD of current Hip Hop. It is big and sweeping and seems to have an underlying positive message which is rarely seen in modern pop rap. With artists like B.O.B, JADAKISS and TYGA, you can’t help but sit up and notice the talent involved. But does it work. Well, in a word, yes.…

The Muppets Attack Fox News

So the Muppets finally responded to being called ‘communists’ by Fox news. Honestly, it may have been the greatest press conference in the world. So as a result of their last movie, FOX news openly called the Muppets communists for their anti-oil-company slant in the movie. (Should Muppets be pro-oil? Are we missing something?) In response, The Muppets held a news conference in England, where Miss Piggy said: Calling us communists is almost as laughable as accusing Fox news of being news. Wow, Fox. A pig with a hand up its ass just burned you. How does it feel?

This is Why You Can’t Find Pot Right Now

Did you know there is a drought going on in Mexico right now? We bet you didn’t. And did you know that marijuana farmers are also being greatly affected by this drought? Well, we didn’t either. We are sort of out of the ‘cool drug’ circle at this point in our lives. We are like Demi Moore. We only smoke the legal stuff. *Has stroke.
