Last week we reviewed Ciara’s song “Ride,” citing her very obvious sexual references with her over-the-top innuendo. If anyone thought she might be using these “cleverly” disguised metaphors as something other than referencing hot and steamy intercourse, those confusions will be cleared up with her video for “Ride.”
The video is simply Ciara “dancing” by herself in a studio. The reason “dancing” is in quotation marks is the same reason quotation marks are used when writing “exotic dancers” to describe strippers. Her gyrating and occasional sexual tease — like slowly taking her pants down to her hip bones — will truly get any male’s attention. Men now have their own version of D’Angelo’s hit 2000 video “Untitled (How Does it Feel), and Ciara’s abs even rival the R&B singers; an accomplishment all on its own.

Ciara appears in the video in three main outfits, and each one is revealing in its own way. The first one features tight spandex pants and a ripped shirt showing off her pre-mentioned rock-hard abs; the second is fur coat on top of a swimsuit-like tight piece of cloth barely covering up her little “Ciara”; and the third is a white tank top soaked in sweat.
The singer wears the white tank top while riding on top of a mechanical bull. If it has never been done before, we will soon be thanking Ciara for creating the “Wet T-Shirt Bull Riding Competition” — sure to be a huge hit at next year’s Spring Break.
Ludacris joins in on the fun rapping,
“Wake her up about 30-minutes later
Calling me the Terminator, let’s go again
Red zone, Imma get her first down
Call me Luda true
Brees I throw it in
Touchdown, he scores
Ludacris the MVP.
“With a rack like that and a back like that
Cici better CC me
Cause them legs just keep going
So I gotta put her to bed.”
With lyrics like these, and the extreme sexuality that Ciara brings, we can all thank the Internet for this incredible video, because there is no way MTV would have allowed “Ride” to be shown during the cable channel’s heyday.
