The members of ICP, Violent J and Shaggy 2 Dope, who have rapped lyrics such as, “Water, fire, air and dirt / Fucking magnets, how do they work? / And I don’t wanna talk to a scientist / Y’all motherfuckers lying, and getting me pissed,” spoke eloquently about the unfortunate incidents.
“It was a shame, because all [Tequila] had to do was get off the stage,” Violent J said. “Nobody said, ‘You have to get on there and stay up there to get paid.’ The way I understand it, they paid her before she got up there and they said, ‘There’s a rumor you’re not wanted here, and you’re free to take off if you like.’ She went up there and stayed up there anyway.”
ICP continued to talk about the other violence that occurred at the event.
“What happened to Method Man — that shouldn’t even be discussed,” Violent J said. He then went on to discuss it. “That was one asshole. One dickhead threw something, and by chance, it hit [Method Man] in the face. But he wasn’t speaking for Juggalos or for ICP or the Gathering. And they weren’t getting bombed up there — it was one asshole.”
Lots of singers have gotten hit in the head by objects at concerts, so not all the blame has to be put on the entire Juggalo universe. Axl Rose has been hit with bottles. A fan in Liverpool hit the lead singer of Morrisey. Even Justin Bieber was recently hit with a water bottle, although one of the side effects of Bieber Fever is the need to throw water bottles, panties, and hotel room keys onstage. But seriously, who would buy a ticket to a Justin Bieber concert, and wade his way through the throngs of tween girls, just to throw a bottle at his head? At least use a rock, especially since his thick and beautiful hair acts like a football helmet.
The Posse continued to say, “We’ve got nothing but love for Method Man and Redman, and we’ve talked to them since then. We walked to them that night and we talked to him just the other day. … And if we had caught the kid who threw that, he’d a got it.”
Wait, what was that last line?
Come on boys. You are trying to persuade an audience that you and your fans are not violent, but then you end an interview by threatening to beat up a juvenile? Apparently the expectation for ICP to go an entire interview without threatening an assault would truly be a “Miracle.”
