Lady Gaga becomes center of attention again, this time negatively, since she is being sued by a former producer for denying him any money from when he helped her become the pop superstar she is now.
Former producer, and lover of Lady Gaga’s, Rob Fusari, has filed a lawsuit against Lady Gaga for more than $30 million, claiming he was a main key to helping her become who is she is now, even helping her create her alias as we all know her, Lady Gaga. Fusari then claims that he was cut out of her record deal once the romance between the two ended, preventing him from making any money on the record sales and producer fees he was owed. An excerpt from the lawsuit went as follows: “All business is personal. When those personal relationships evolve into romantic entanglements, any corresponding business relationship usually follows the same trajectory so that when one crashes they all burn. That is what happened here.”
It’s logical for the ripped-off producer to make this all public now, since Lady Gaga is at her highest in popularity, selling 10 million albums worldwide. The lawsuit gives all the details on how the two met in 2006, and how at first Fusari, although not flattered by her appearance, let Lady Gaga, then known by her real name Stefani Germanotta, sing. Fusari also gives the information on how her stage name came to be, stating he one day sent a text to the rising pop star with the subject reading “Radio Ga Ga”, which his phone then spell corrected the word radio, to lady, and it stuck.
It could be foreseen that someone like Lady Gaga would do something like this, whether out of spite or for whatever reason. Those of us that know what she looked like before her fame, should thank him for transforming her.
