Miley Goes Commando…But Probably Not Really

Miley Cyrus has recently been apart of much controversy with her becoming of age, although she is not yet even eighteen. The young pop star has been talked about for how she’s changing her image and becoming more sexy, plus more raunchy, but it seems Perez Hilton has crossed the line when he posted panty-less pictures of the young star on his website.
Perez is getting scolded now for what he has done, but there are two sides to this whole situation. While it is true that it’s considered child pornography to post pictures of an underage female with exposed private parts, is it really kind of ridiculous since Miley has been trying to appear more grown up; including her very risky, and maybe even sort of slutty Vanity Fair shoot, where the young star is barely dressed in all of her pictures. Now, there is obviously a HUGE difference between being hardly dressed, and having her private area exposed, but who knows what the star would have done on her own, whether these pictures were released or not. Cyrus released her own feelings on the matter to Ryan Seacrest in a radio interview, stating: “That’s like some idiot being an idiot — that’s not me, you know what I’m saying? Isn’t it funny how things that are so negative have to come out right before my record? It’s like no one can just let a positive thing happen. All I can do is focus on the positive and that I hope this record does well. My record is not provocative. If you’re buying that, you’re not buying whatever somebody with no life [does].” Even since the immediate and constant criticism, Perez has semi-apologized, and posted a video on his website saying: “Do you think Miley is that stupid to be out in public without panties? Do you think I am stupid enough to post a photo of Miley if she is not wearing any underwear down there?”
This situation is a perfect example in showing how everybody dealing with any type of celebrity image only tries to save themselves. Perez is known for posting accidental exposures of celebrities private parts, including pictures he had posted of Britney Spears and Paris Hilton in the past. And Miley, especially with her new album coming out, would obviously only be trying to keep her old fans and gain new ones, not lose any due to her new so-called “grown-up” change. I personally think Perez Hilton is perfectly aware that he may be facing child pornography charges, since he’s changing his attitude toward the situation, and since it seems that most evidence of him even posting it is gone, besides the multiple tabloids and articles covering the incident. And as for Miley, she never seemed to deny the whole situation, so if she’s not trying to change her image for the worse, then why can’t she just wear some damn underwear? I mean, c’mon now, she is only seventeen, what is she REALLY trying to do with her whole persona? Any celebrity, especially one of her status, should be aware that they’re always being watched, so if they aren’t trying to be exposed, then they should be careful with what they do, including how they dress. This thing can either blow over quickly and be forgotten, or get dragged on for a really long time. I guess we’ll all see what happens from here.
