After T.I. had recently spoke to students at Woodland Middle School in Henry County, Georgia, some parents of the students decided to speak out against it. One father in particular, Tom Myers, who has four girls in the counties school district, stated “Had I had the opportunity to not let them go, I would have had them sit out.”

Myers continued to protest, sending an e-mail to the principal of the school, Dr. Terry Oatts, which read: “In the future, if T.I. or any other convicted felon needs to perform community service, ask for parental permission to allow our children to be exposed to these questionable individuals.”
The principal replied with a simple yet firm e-mail which read: “Mr. Harris has never been convicted of homicide. We would not be able to adequately staff our state’s general assembly, our U.S. Congress or the executive branch of our government using your apparent standards.”
