There is a controversy and discussion going around about her songs latest video for the ‘Rude Boy’, which depicted an awful and unpleasant lot of boys who look like M.I.A’s, but the videos director Melina Matsoukas does not believe that there is some obvious and noticeable difference during the shoot of the video.
In response to this Rihanna explained that the video is depicting the lot of Rasta culture and 80’s Atari vibe and this all what the video is about. Later on, she felt that the director actually tore her video and she was shocked about it. This video was not to rip off anyone’s image at all, but the director actually applied an animation approach with a similar vibe. Before this, Andy Warhol and Grace Jones did the same thing, therefore, I do not think that anyone could lay claim to anything. Similar and alike elements inspire everyone, and it comes together all the way. This is what everyone is calling it, ‘The Inspiration’, but it actually was blatant, deliberate, and obvious copying not inspiration, brainwave, influence, and insight. People just hated off the music video director saying that he merely ripped off the M.I.A’s and sucked big time. There are still no talk made by the M.I.A’s on it, everyone is still wondering what they have to say about all this.
