Fans recently walked out of a Whitney Houston concert in Australia and it is appropriate this took place in The Land Down Under. Her career has been going under for quite some time, and this is great symbolism.
Apparently the first set of the show in Sydney was fine but after she took a 13 minute break and started the second set things began to fall apart. Her voice began to crack and she was unable to hit the right notes. Her show ran much like the arc of her career: a solid early career loved by many, a hiatus of a few years (the whole Bobby Brown issue) and an attempt to return to singing resulting in large number of fans fleeing from the singer.
Just a few days prior to the Sydney incident, a similar thing happened in Brisbane. There have been reports that the show was littered with coughs, and she needed to take breaks to catch her breath.
Promoters have said that the problems in Whitney’s shows are a result of poor health. If that’s the case maybe we should be praising Whitney for her commitment to her fans?
